デス妻３：二人の花嫁（音声付き）
あらら～、『デス妻３』が終わっちゃいました～。
でも、このシーズン３、
盛りだくさんの内容のわりに、なぜかどのエピソードも
２回見る気はしませんでした。
なぜだろ～？？？
と思っていたところ、この回を見てその理由が明らかに！
Bree がほとんど出てなかったからだ～！！！
いったい彼女に何があったんでしょう？
身体の具合でも悪かったのかな？
（ドラマの中では「ハネムーン」プラス「娘の妊娠隠し」だったけど……）
最終回になってやっと登場した彼女。
かなりおとなしくなってはいるものの、やっていることは相変わらずですね～。
さてさて今日は、その彼女の登場を待っている３人（Gabrielle、Susan、Lynette ）の会話を拾ってみました。
花嫁さんは、something borrowed 、 something blue 、 something old 、
そして something new を身に着けるしきたりがありますよね。
この最後の something new を持ってくるはずの Bree がまだ到着していません。
すでに３つを身に着けた Gabrielle がイラついています。

週末に突然パソコンが壊れてしまいました～。
（いったい何が起きたのやら・・・・）
今日締め切りの仕事があったので
昨日はデータ回復のため
朝から降りしきる雪の中、駆け込み寺PC wiz さまの元へ。
問題のハードディスクは、
ダメージが大きい上にやたらとガードがかたく、
素直にデータを取り出させてくれません。
でもそこはPC wiz さま、
何とか必要なものはリカバーすることができました。
（神さま、仏さま、PC wiz さま、ありがとうございました～）
とはいえ、今は借り物のPCを使っているため
いつもの形式の記事はちょっと無理そう。
なので、こんなときは
ステキな夢でも見ながら、シンデレラさんとご一緒に

最近、
public domain になった good old movies が
500yen DVD として売られてますよね～。
で、嬉しいことに！
あの Walt Disney の animated films もその仲間入りをしていたので
先日
sound と subtitles が bilingual !
なのを double and triple check して、
ためしに買ってみました。
「Cinderella に Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
それから Peter Pan は外せない。 あっ！
Alice in Wonderland と Pinocchio もあるっ！」
『シンデレラ』 『白雪姫』 『ピーター・パン』
『ふしぎの国のアリス』 『ピノキオ』 なんて、
ためしに、っていう割にはけっこう欲張り……。
でも、
once upon a time （笑） にpicture books を見ながら
over and over again listen to したものばかりです！
（特にPeter Pan は、何度聴いたことか……）
（この picture books っていうのが、
以前にディズニー・パワー（魔女のお気に入りフレーズ）でも書いたように、
けっこうあなどれないんですよ～。
絵本については、先日記事にした工藤静香さん も
vocab の点で、同じようなことおっしゃってましたよね～）
そんなこんなで、結局 Fantasia （『ファンタジア』） も add して、
計7本のお買い上げ。

デス妻３：Beautiful Girls
あの『デス妻』に
またまた強烈なキャラが登場しましたね～。
ホームから引き取った Orson の mom です。
彼女の前では、あの「Breeさま」でさえ
meek な little girl に見えてしまうし
あれほど treacherous っぽい Orson だって
ただの helpless child って感じ。
何と言っても、彼女を演じている女優さんがスゴイ。
文字にしてしまうと、どこの mother-in-law でも言ってそうなセリフが
ハンパなく（extraordinarily に）chilly になるんですから。
それでは早速、今週のエピソード Beautiful Girls から
そんな彼女の bitchy ぶりをご紹介しましょう。
場面は Bree の家。
家族でテーブルを囲んでいますが、Orsonのmom ( 以下Mom) が
まだ食卓についていません。
Bree:
Mother Hodge!

あえて言うなら マシオカでしょうか。
数々の Awards に nominate されたＮＢＣの人気ドラマ
Heroes です。
（またまた drama ネタでスミマセン。
季節柄、どうしてもね～）
アメリカでは すでに Season 2 が始まっていますが、
日本では、まさに a couple of days ago に
Super! drama TV で Season 1 の Pilot が went on air したばかり。
（残念ながら、ＢＳ２頼みの我が家では見られないけど
next February にはＤＶＤも rent できるみたい）
今では
nearly 150 territories around the world で license されていて、
wherever it’s launched であろうと
record-breaking な rating を earn し、
tremendous success をおさめているようです。
この drama 、
around the world にいる、
それぞれに extraordinary な ability をもった
everyday men and women が、
自分の superpower を for the first time に discover する、
っていうところから始まるらしいんですが、

前回は、BS２の新ドラマ Ugly Betty を取り上げましたが、
何と！ いつの間にか『デス妻３』
(Desperate Housewives Season 3) が
始まってたんですね～。
『デス妻１』 『デス妻２』 に続いて 『デス妻３』 まで !
またもや「第1回」を miss してしまいました～(>_<)
でも、何とか「第2回」を録画することができましたので
遅ればせながら 「お気に入りフレーズ」を
お届けしたいと思います。
前回見ていないんで、詳しいことはわかりませんが、
結局 Bree は Orson と結婚することになったんですね～。
ところがそこへ、
「Orson が、Alma という ex-wife を殺害した」って
主張する女性 (Carolyn という名前らしい) が現れた、と。
で、今回は、
前から Orson に不信感を抱いていた Susan が、
さらに怪しい行動を見てしまい、
詳しい話を聞こうと、Carolyn の職場（銀行）へ出かけて行きます。
以下、銀行の窓口での会話。
Susan:
こんにちは。Susan Mayer といいます。
(Hi, my name's Susan Mayer.)
あなたがここにいるかも、って your neighbor が教えてくれたもんだから。

BS２ で Ugly Betty が始まりましたね～。
偶然 TVで、あの『デス妻』を尻目に
Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series を
earn した瞬間を見てしまったし、
つい最近（September 16）は、Emmy Awards まで
win したようなので
10月1日 11:00p.m. の Pilot は
とりあえず録画しておきました……。
中身は、どうやら
racial 面でも visual 面 でも、
あまり恵まれていない女の子の
Cinderella tale らしく
heroine の Betty は
American dream の symbol になっているみたいですね～。
それではさっそく

今度もまた気になる含みを残して……。
私は desperately に into it ってわけではないんですが
一度見始めたら can’t miss even a scene っていう感じに
なっちゃいますね～。
in this last episode には、ぜひとも

heroines はそれぞれが desperate な housewives なんですが
私はどうしても、その中の Bree が気になっちゃいます。
一番まともな生活を pursue していながら
unbelievably に desperate なんですから。
この last episode も Bree の flashback 、
5 years ago の scene から始まります。
George の pharmacy で、夫のRex と買い物をしているときの会話。
お会計の前に add on してくれと Bree が持ってきたのは hairdye
それを見た Rex が何でまたそんなもんを？ っていう感じで
You're dying your hair honeywheat blond?
と尋ねます。
すると、Bree の答えは
Oh, it's not for me, it's for Danielle.
二人のずっと後ろには、髪に赤い highlights を入れた娘の Danielle の姿が……。
Bree: That hair is going back to the color god intended.
なるほど～。
無理やりもとの髪の色に戻すっていうわけですね。
Rex: You actually think she's gonna sit still
as you towel this through her hair?
そりゃあ、言われるままに黙って座ってるわけないですよね。
ところが Bree は強気です。
: Oh, I will tie her down if necessary.
し、縛り付けてまでっつ！ おまけに
I'm also thinking of checking her body for piercings while I'm at it.
ボディピアスをしてるかまでチェックするつもりらしい。
さすがにやりすぎだろう、と

それでも Bree はさらに言い張ります。

おまけにこんなことまで

この家族の行く末をご存知の方、気の毒で涙が出ますよね～。

そうなんです。いっつも自分は完ぺきで正しい人間だっていう
自信に満ちあふれている Bree には
一番言われたくないせりふです。そこで

それだけではおさまらず
清算カウンターにいた George にまでふっちゃいます。

これに対する George の返答がふるってます。

さてさて、クリスマスということで
